Manipulating Fabric 2
Design Experimentation Workshop Jan 2015
Instructors: Roberto Requejo & Yarinda Bunnag
The Design Experimentation Workshop on Fabric 2.0 introduced students to work with fabric and related elements as materials for spatial design. A series of formal exercises allowed students to tamper with and get acquainted with material properties in a controlled process that separately addressed changes in topology (via rupture + attachment), texture (relief) and space-making, culminating in a final exercise that expected them to deploy their formal palette into a single collaborative installation at INDA’s Palm Court. The final installation challenged students to address some of the functional, transformative, and evocative potentials of fabric while creating an occupiable space for human habitation.
